In a heavy saucepan, combine butter, milk, sugar, and salt. Bring to boil over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Have ready and stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips, and vanilla. Stir vigorously with wooden spoon for one minute or until the mixture thickens. Add nuts. Pour into buttered 9-inch pan and chill. Cut into squares when set.
