Chicken Soup For Dogs
|
- 3 to 5 lb chicken
- sea salt
- whole carrots, scrubbed but not peeled
- celery leaves
- parsley
- 1 bag frozen mixed vegetables
- eggs
- noodles (for thin dog)
- rice, crumbled (optional)
- cooked hamburger (optional)

| Cut chickens, if whole and remove skin if the dog has trouble digesting fats. In a large soup pot filled with water, add chickens and bring to boil. Add salt, carrots, celery leaves and parsley. Boil for 2 to 3 hours. Add frozen vegetables and continue cooking until tender. Beat several eggs and drizzle into boiling soup while stirring. Add noodles and/or optional ingredients. Chill cooked soup in refrigerator and skim off excess fat. Debone and cut up the chicken, return to soup. Serve over kibble, can be frozen in meal size freezer bags. Good for finicky eaters and working dogs who need extra nutrition. |
