Apricot Baked Ham

  • 1 10-14 lb. whole ham, fully cooked, bone in
  • whole cloves
  • 1/3 c. dry mustard
  • 1 c. apricot jam
  • 1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed

Trim skin and excess fat from ham. Score sides and top in a diamond shape. Place ham on a rack in a large roasting pan. Press cloves into ham. Combine the dry mustard and jam. Spread over the entire surface of the ham. Pat brown sugar over the jam mixture. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours. Count on 15-18 minutes per pound. The sugary crust that forms on the ham keeps the juices in. When ham is done, remove from oven and let set for 15-20 minutes before carving. Yields 15 or more servings.
