Mix shortening, sugar and egg. Stir in orange juice and orange rind. Measure flour, blend in dry ingredients. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes. Cookies will be slightly golden brown around the edges.
