Cranberry Nut Bread

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 TB melted shortening
  • 3 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. whole canned cranberries
  • 1 c. chopped nutmeats
     
 
Beat the eggs. Add sugar gradually and mix well. Add milk and melted shortening. Add flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until blended. Fold in cranberries and nutmeats. One cup fresh or drained canned blueberries may be used instead of cranberries. Bake at 350° 50-60 minutes. Makes 2 loaves.
